Synephrine can be used as a pressure booster, for shock, for heart failure, bronchial asthma and surgery and anesthesia during the bottom blood pressure, collapse and shock, body, position hypotension, etc. α -adrenergic receptor agonists, vasoconstrictor, etc.

1. Cardiovascular effects
Aurantii, AURantii decoction, AurantiI extract, AURantiI injection and its effective component syneferine hydrochloride intravenous injection can significantly enhance the indexes of myocardial contractility and blood pumping function in anaesthesia dogs, and can strengthen the heart, contract blood vessels, improve the total peripheral resistance, and increase the left ventricular pressure and arterial blood pressure. Modern studies have also confirmed that AURantium aurantii can increase the tension of aorta in a concentration-dependent manner and contract the smooth muscle of aorta in rabbits.
 

2. How to Lose weight

Synephrine hydrochloride, as a weight loss promoter, works by stimulating β-3 adrenergic receptor, resulting in lipid decomposition and subsequent thermogenesis.  Most dietary supplements containing synephrine hydrochloride also contain a variety of other ingredients,  salicylic acid .  The combination of these chemical compounds increases the weight loss effect of Synephrine hydrochloride.  In this study, rats were repeatedly orally treated with alcohol extract of lime water with standardized syneferine hydrochloride content, and their food intake and cardiovascular function were evaluated. It was found that the lime extract could reduce food intake and weight gain, and the electrocardiogram of experimental animals was abnormal
