Ginseng (
Panax ginseng
) is a perennial herb of the Araliaceae, which is produced in Northeast China, North Korea, South Korea, Japan, and eastern Russia. "PANAX" comes from the Greek word, meaning "to cure all diseases". Its root can be used medicinally. It can regulate the central nervous system, improve heart function, strengthen the body's immune function, and also has anti-tumor and antioxidant effects.
The main component of ginseng is ginsenoside. Ginseng stems and leaves mainly contain Rg1, Re, Rb1, Rc, Rb2, Rd. Modern pharmacological research shows that ginsenoside has the following effects: Rg1: It can quickly relieve fatigue, improve learning and memory, delay aging, excite the central nervous system, and inhibit platelet aggregation. Rb1: It can affects the testis of animals, affects the embryonic development of mice, strengthens the choline system, increases the synthesis and release of acetylcholine, and improves memory.
