P roduct Description

BLACKLIGO ®  400  is   a n organophilic lignite designed to reduce HPHT filtration of all oil-based mud and synthetic-based mud at temperatures up to 400°F (204 ºC ). BLACKLIGO ®  400   can act synergistically with the primary and secondary emulsifiers in conventional Invert Emulsion fluid systems to enhance the overall emulsion and thermal stability of the fluid system. BLACKLIGO ®  400  is  particularly effective in extreme  HPHT wells.

R e commended Treatment

  • The concentration will depend on the degree of filtration control desire and bottom hole temperature (BHT). A typical range is 2-6 ppb (5.7-17.1 kg/m 3 ) if BHT<300°F (149 ºC ) and 6-20 p pb (17.1-57.1 kg/m 3 ) if BHT>300°F (149 ºC ). A pilot test needs to be done prior to use in the field.
