Product Description

Ciprofloxacin CAS 85721-33-1 for Antibacterial Effect

Ciprofloxacin is a synthetic third-generation quinolone antibacterial drug with broad-spectrum antibacterial activity and good bactericidal effect. The antibacterial activity against almost all bacteria is 2 to 4 times stronger than enoxacin. Enterobacter, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Haemophilus influenzae, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Streptococcus, Legionella, and Staphylococcus aureus have antibacterial effects. Its antibacterial activity is the strongest among the widely used fluoroquinolones. In addition to its high antibacterial activity against gram-negative bacilli, it also has a good antibacterial effect against Staphylococcus, and its effect against Pneumococcus and Streptococcus is slightly worse than that of Staphylococcus. This product also has inhibitory effects on some mycobacteria, Chlamydia trachomatis, Ureaplasma urealyticum, Mycoplasma hominis, etc.

Ciprofloxacin CAS 85721-33-1 for Antibacterial Effect
Ciprofloxacin  is used to treat or prevent certain infections caused by bacteria.Ciprofloxacin is also used to treator prevent anthrax in people who may have been exposed to anthrax grems in the air.Ciprofloxacin is in a classof antibiotics called fluoroquinolones. It works by killing bacteria that cause infections.Antibiotics will not workfor colds, flu,or other viral infections.

Function:

1.Ciprofloxacin is used to treat a wide variety of infections, including infections of bones and joints, endocarditis, gastroenteritis, malignant otitis externa, respiratory tract infections, cellulitis, urinary tract infections, prostatitis, anthrax, and chancroid.

2.Ciprofloxacin only treats bacterial infections;  it does not treat viral infections such as the common cold.  For certain uses including acute sinusitis, lower respiratory tract infections and uncomplicated gonorrhea, ciprofloxacin is not considered a first-line agent.

3.Ciprofloxacin occupies an important role in treatment guidelines issued by major medical societies for the treatment of serious infections, especially those likely to be caused by Gram-negative bacteria, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa.  For example, ciprofloxacin is one of several first-line antibiotic regimens recommended by the Infectious Diseases Society of America for the treatment of community-acquired abdominal infections in adults. It also features prominently in treatment guidelines for acute pyelonephritis, complicated or hospital-acquired urinary tract infection, acute or chronic prostatitis, certain types of endocarditis, certain skin infections, and prosthetic joint infections.

Application:

1.Ciprofloxacin is used for the treatment of Bacterial infection of Respiratory tract, UTI, Uncomplicated Cystitis in Females, GI, Chronic Bacterial Prostatitis, CNS, Immuno compromised patients, Skin, Bone and Joint Infections, Uncomplicated cervical and urethral gonorrhea.

2.Ciprofloxacin has in vitro activity against a wide range of gram-negative and gram-positive organisms.

3.Ciprofloxacin inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase, an enzyme responsible for counteracting excessive supercoiling of DNA during replication or transcription.

4.Ciprofloxacin is different from that of other antimicrobial agents such as beta-lactams, macrolides, tetracyclines, or aminoglycosides; therefore, organisms resistant to these drugs may be susceptible to Ciprofloxacin.

5. Ciprofloxacin is in a class of antibiotics called fluoroquinolones. It works by killing bacteria that cause infections. Antibiotics will not work for colds, flu, or other viral infections.
