Norfloxacin is a synthetic antibacterial agent that belongs to the class of fluoroquinolone antibiotics. It is used to treat urinary tract infections, gynecological infections, inflammation of the prostate gland, gonorrhea and bladder infection. Function

The product is a fluoroquinolone antibacterials, with broad-spectrum antibacterial effect, especially for aerobic gram-negative bacilli high antibacterial activity, on the following in vitro bacterial with good antibacterial effect:Enterobacteriaceae most bacteria, including citric acid bacterium, Enterobacter cloacae, Enterobacter aerogenes,enterobacter, Escherichia coli rare bacterium, Cray Borrelia bacteria of the genus, proteus, Salmonella, Shigella,yersinia genus Vibrio, etc.. Norfloxacin lactate

Norfloxacin has in vitro antibacterial activity of multi-drug resistant. Penicillin-resistant Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Haemophilus influenzae and Moraxella catarrhalis is also a good antibacterial effect. Norfloxacin is Fungicide, by acting on bacterial DNA helicase of the A subunit, inhibit DNA synthesis and replication leading to bacterial death.

Application

Norfloxacin is used for prevention of spontaneous bacterial peritonitis in cirrhotic patients who have a low ascites fluid protein level, impaired renal function, severe liver disease, have had a prior episode of spontaneous bacterial peritonitis, or esophageal variceal bleeding.
