Description of Xylazine Hydrochloride(Powder)
 
1.Xylazine/Xylazina Hydrochloride  is α2 class of adrenergic receptor agonist.
Target: Adrenergic ReceptorXylazine is a drug that is used for sedation, anesthesia, muscle relaxation, and analgesia in animals such as horses, cattle and other non-human mammals. 
An analogue of clonidine, it is an agonist at the α2 class of adrenergic receptor. 

2.Xylazine/Zylazine/Zylazina hcl  has recently emerged as a recreational drug, especially in Puerto Rico . Administration of xylazine  (0.17 mg/kg of body weight, diluted to a 10-ml volume, using 0.9% NaCl)  induced approximately 2.5 hours of local analgesia without apparent side effects. 

3. Higher doses of  xylazine/xilazine/xilazina/xilacina  caused mild hind limb ataxia. Administration of lidocain induced a similar duration of analgesia, with severe hind limb ataxia (100% incidence). We concluded that xylazine given by epidural injection results in safe, effective perineal analgesia in horses.

Xylazine  has emerged as a recreational drug recently, especially in the   US market.
Alpha2-adrenoceptor agonists, sedatives, and muscle relaxants.
 
Introduction
Xylazine is a sedative veterinary drug. A class of drugs that can slightly inhibit the central nervous system and weaken functional activities, thereby eliminating restlessness and restoring tranquility. In recent years, individual livestock breeders, driven by economic interests, have added such drugs in the process of raising livestock and poultry without authorization to play the role of sedation and hypnosis, weight gain and fattening, and shortening the time for slaughter.

In addition, in the process of animal transportation, in order to reduce animal death and weight loss, and prevent the reduction of meat quality, such drugs are often used to reduce the loss caused by stress.

Xylazine hydrochloride is a class of drugs that eliminate restlessness and restore tranquility.

Biological activity
XylazineHCl is an alpha2 adrenergic receptor agonist used as a sedative and muscle relaxant.
 
In vivo studies
1. In beagle dogs,   Xylazine hydrochloride dose-dependently inhibits the release of norepin and lipolysis. Xylazine also tends to reduce epine levels in a dose-dependent manner.

2. In horses,   Xylazine dose- and time-dependently decreased minimum alveolar concentration (MAC) Xylazine hydrochloride dose- and time-dependently increased blood glucose concentration.

In horses,   Xylazine significantly decreased heart rate, increased the incidence of atrioventricular block, and decreased cardiac output and cardiac index decline.

3. In standing mares,   Xylazine induces variable bilateral caudal analgesia extending from the coccyx to S3 with minimal sedation, ataxia, and cardiorespiratory depression. Xylazine significantly reduces cardiac and respiratory rates, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, mean arterial blood pressure, PCV, hemoglobin concentration, arterial blood oxygen content and oxygen delivery.

4. In dairy cows,   Xylazine induces sedation and selective (S3 to Co) analgesia for at least 2 hours. Xylazine significantly reduces heart rate, respiratory rate, rumen contraction, arterial blood pressure, partial pressure of oxygen, PCV, and total solids concentration, and significantly increases PaCO2, alkali excess, and bicarbonate concentrations in dairy cows.

5. In brain-retomized rats   without anesthesia, Xylazine inhibits the N3 field (-75%) and completely inhibits the climbing fiber field (-100%).
