Gebruikt   halfsynthetische antibiotica die zijn afgeleid van Cephamycine. Antibacterieel
Gebruikt   Cefmetazole-natrium wordt klinisch gebruikt in combinatie met Tanreqing voor de behandeling van longinfecties zoals senile-emfyseem en andere acute bacteriële infecties.
Definitie   Chebi: Een organisch natriumzout dat het natriumzout van cefmetazol is.
Merknaam   Zefafozone (Pharmacia & Upjohn).
Klinisch gebruik   Cefmetazole (Zefafozone) is een halfsynthetische, parenterale cefalosporine van de derde generatie van de cephamycine-groep. Likeother cephamycines, de aanwezigheid van de 7α-methoxyl groupconfers resistentie tegen veel β-lactamase. Cefmetazoleexposeert significant hogere potentie tegen leden van de Enterobacteriaceae familie, maar lagere activiteit tegen Bacteroides spp. dan cefoxitine. Het is zeer actief tegen N. Gonorrheae, waaronder -lactamase-producerende stammen. Ongewoon met andere cefamycines is cefmetazole indole-positieve Proteus, Enterobacter, Providencia, Serratia en Pseudomonas spp. Cefmetazole heeft de MTtmoiety geassocieerd met verhoogde bloeding bij bepaalde hoogrisicktatiënten. Het heeft een plasma-halfwaardetijd van 1.1 uur.
